Are You Attracting Abundance Today?

What thoughts did you have when you woke up this morning? Did you think, "Oh no, it's Monday. I have to go to work." Did you think of challenges you are facing? Did you look at today as being full of possibilities or full of problems? Whatever you think about is what you attract. Are you attracting abundance into your life today?

Just by reading my blog, you are attracting an opportunity for abundance. In my experience, people are hoping they can achieve more in their lives but are afraid of being disappointed. The sad thing about this is that people often lower their expectations to what they consider a realistic level. We call this a limiting belief, which hinders people's progress more than anything else.

Once you no longer believe something is possible for you, it probably isn't. But simply believing and focusing on a goal already raises the possibility of your achieving it. This is what we learn in the field of personal development, which simply defined, means becoming aware that you actually create your reality by how you think and the actions you take. None of us are victims. We are 100% responsible for where we are right now.

This is realy good news. As you look around you, you already know that there are billions of dollars circulating in the economy. And thousands of people are millionaires. True, money isn't the only form of abundance. But having an abundance of money makes it possible for you to manifest abundance in other areas. You can have more time for important relationships. You can have the time and resources to make a difference by participating in causes you are passionate about.

If the idea of attracting abundance into your life today excites you, congratulations. Realize that anything is possible for you, starting this very minute. All you need to do is have faith and take action.

Is Your LIfe As Abundant As You Want?

Are you ready to have your financial cage rattled a bit? One simple question can achieve that purpose. Here it is: Is your life as abundant as you want? Not as abundant as you think is possible. Not as abundant as you think you deserve. The question remains, "Is your life as abundant as YOU WANT?"

Simply by being alive in the 21st century with the time and resources to read this blog makes you more abundant than most of the people who have ever lived before. However, I dare say you still live and think smaller than you need to. I know I sure did.

The change for me came when I became actively involved in personal development. I took the 90 day challenge to move BEYOND FREEDOM and did just that. Now I realize that the only thing standing between me and my ability to achieve even greater abundance in any area of my life everyday is my own doubt.

Unless I am growing and achieving higher goals everyday, my life is being wasted to some degree. So is yours. Remember, abundance is not about greed. It's about achieving all you are capable of achieving so you can bring glory to your creator by helping as many people as possible achieve their highest potential.

People are not kidding when they say life is short. Live yours as abundantly as possible. All big thinkers and high achievers have to conquer fear and step out on faith. The greatest tragedy is to live small and not strive for your greatest goals. Is your life as abundant as you want? If not, make a change today. Tap into your abundant potential

Receiving Abundance

All of us recognize the abundance in our world. So what keeps so many people from actually receiving abundance? After all, it's one thing to acknowledge the abundance in nature. People seem able to accept that creation is all about increase and growth. But it's quite another thing to feel deserving of abundance in the financial realm.

For some reason, many people have bought into the idea that wealth is somehow equated with greed. When you look at great people in the Bible, many of them were quite wealthy. Think of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon. This did not make them unspiritual in any way. God created us to grow and increase and loves to bless His creation.

So why have people, maybe even you, bought into the idea that wealth is only for a few. If you really believe in abundance, isn't it obvious that there is enough wealth for everyone? I challenge you to change from poverty consciousness, believing that you are not deserving of more than the bare necessities and that wealth is for the privileged few. Focus on prosperity consciousness, which says that there is not a limited amount of pie to be shared. Rather, there are infinite numbers of pies yet to be made.

Recognize that we live and grow by increasing, just like all of creation. The next step is to truly believe that you deserve wealth in your life. If you have always been a wage earner, this is going to require a huge change in your mindset. Download and read The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. It's a free download. As you learn to do things in the certain way, open yourself to receiving the abundance that is available to you.

P.S. The Science of Getting Rich will change your thinking in some very positive ways. You will see that you definitely deserve to receive abundance.

Abundance and Prosperity Consciousness

Have you ever caught yourself saying something like, "That's just how I am"? Or "I'm a pessimist by nature." We all remember seeing the picture of two 8 ounce glasses with 4 ounces of water in each glass. We were told to describe the glasses and we found ourselves either responding with "half full" or "half empty." If you chose half full, you lean toward abundance and prosperity consciousness. If you chose half empty, you lean more toward lack and poverty consciousness.

Depending on a lot of factors, most people lean toward being more positive or more negative. In spite of your inclinations, remember that the world really is a level playing field. Even though some people may start out with an apparent advantage such as being from an affluent family, we are all capable of achieving any goal we set our hearts and minds on.

Just this morning I was doing some personal development meditation and journaling. My assignment was to choose 3 beliefs to impress onto my subconscious mind everyday until they become second nature to me. All of us can improve our self-image and become more capable and positive in our approach to life.

The three beliefs I am impressing upon my subconscious are:

1. My world overflows with neverending abundance.
2. I have talents that deserve to be richly rewarded.
3. Everywhere I look, new opportunities present themselves.

Feel free to use these statements to change your outlook. In the process you will become more prosperity and abundance conscious. In fact, your attraction to this blog could very well be a step in the right direction. If you'd like to find out more about personal development and how it can make your life more abundant, contact me.

Don't Read This Unless....

Don't read this unless there is an area in your life where you desire more abundance. If you are 100% satisfied that there is nothing more you wish to be, do, or have, stop now. Otherwise, come with me into the realm of possibility.

There are a lot of people who simply accept the status quo and decide that what they are experiencing now is all they can ever expect. They have bought into some limiting beliefs that have convinced them that only a few people can be wealthy. That expensive homes and cars are made for other people, not them. You may have been one of these people until today. Are you wondering if maybe you can change your circumstances? That maybe you can achieve more for yourself and others?

I work with a direct sales company that offers one of the most lucrative business models on the planet. It is totally geared to enable one to create wealth in a very short amount of time, possibly even 6-12 months. Not everyone allows themselves to believe this can actually happen to them. Of course this success requires faith and some work, but it is 100% possible.

Success in our business simply involves doing exactly what other successful people in our company are doing, period. No second guessing the system. No reinventing the wheel. No looking for reasons to fail. No listening to the broke friends and relatives. Just do the thing and allow the abundance. After all, the leaders in the company want others to succeed as much as themselves. That is why so much support is available.

If you are still hanging back, thinking this sounds too good to be true, think about all the successful people you either know or have heard about. They had a dream, took the required action, and STAYED THE COURSE, until they succeeded. As Andy Andrews says in The Traveler's Gift, they made a decision to persist without exception.

I'm sure the successful people you know had broke friends and family members who raised all kinds of objections to what they were doing. They were told that their idea wouldn't work. That they were wasting time and money. Broke people don't want their friends and family members to succeed because then they would be wrong. They would rather see you fail than admit they are wrong.

My challenge to you today is start believing in possibilities. Rather than look at why something won't work, look for reasons it will work. Either way you will find supporting evidence. I would love to help you explore where you are now and where you'd like to be. Since you're still reading, there must be areas you'd like to become more abundant in. I'm just an average person experiencing above average abundance. I look forward to helping you do the same.

Our Freedom Legacy

We are so blessed to be living today in this place. Think about all the freedoms and possibilities we have that no previous generation had. This also contributes to our abundant life. The simple fact that I'm sitting in my home typing on a machine some words that could be read by millions of people is astounding. These people may read this today, next week, or next year. They may live in the United States, Australia, Europe, Africa or anywhere. The internet and personal computing have brought us all closer than ever before in history. This is but a small example of our freedom legacy.

Because I treasure this legacy, I choose my thoughts and my words carefully. My goal is to only send positive thoughts into the universe (including cyberspace) designed to give everyone hope and a vision for the future. It amazes me how my subconscious mind pulls together things I read, words I've heard, and creates ideas for moving me in new directions.

Because I have taken advantage of my freedom legacy, I work from home as an entrepreneur. This lifestyle affords me the luxury of spending time meditating and visualizing how I want my life to look. I could lament the fact that I spent so many years working for someone else in hopes of having some financial security. However, since I choose to send only positive thoughts, I am celebrating my decision to claim my legacy and enjoy not only financial freedom, but time and personal freedom as well.

My prayer is that no one with a dream and desire wastes another moment in fear. The term comfort zone is a misnomer. It is really a prison guarded by fear. Our predecessors paid dearly for our freedom. We owe it to them, to ourselves, and to our posterity to step out on faith and live our lives the way we choose. We only get one chance at today. Make it a great day as you celebrate your own freedom legacy and experience the abundant life.

The Dead Sea Concept

Do you know how the Dead Sea got its name? It does not support life. Water flows into the Dead Sea from the Jordan River but there is no outlet. The incoming water simply evaporates which keeps the concentration of salt and other minerals too high for anything to live there. I call this the Dead Sea Concept.

This concept also applies to many areas of life. Think of calories, possessions, money and even love. Let's focus on money. Money is energy and has the power to transform our world. The most efficient process for attracting an abundance of money into your life is to have a plan for where it is going. If you simply hoard it, it becomes toxic and loses its power to support life, just like the Dead Sea. Think Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol.

However, if you have plans to tithe, invest, and make purchases with your money, it suddenly becomes vibrant and energetic. It causes us to feel emotions such as gratitude and enjoyment. It also brings about the same emotions in others. The people who receive our gifts also have gratitude, enjoyment and new hope for achieving something previously not possible. The companies we invest in now have the ability to accomplish more for themselves and our world. The merchants we purchase products from also prosper. Do you see how powerful our wealth is?

As you set goals for achieving more abundance in your life, remember the Dead Sea Concept. Have a plan for money to flow into as well as out of your life and you will be amazed at the changes you see. You will be able to contribute more to the world than you ever imagined. Would you like to be part of a business and a community who live this way everyday? It's about all of us becoming more abundant everyday in everyway.

It's All About the Journey

Abundance is not a destination. Rather abundance is to be experienced on each step of our journey through life. As we live each day, we must learn to recognize all the abundance in our surroundings. There is no scarcity of thoughts to think, ideas to create, or money to make. So remember, it's all about the journey. With deliberate focus, we can learn to appreciate so many possibilities and blessings in our lives.

One of my favorite ways to change my mindset from feeling negative to feeling positive is simply to name things I am grateful for. This exercise causes me to look at my abundance rather than at my lack. Pretty soon I begin to realize just how blessed I am. After all, I actually had nothing to do with my existance. I was created by the same God who created every other living and non-living object. Not only that, but he created billions of creatures just like me. I say "just like me" meaning we all are homo sapiens, but in reality we are each quite unique. How can He keep coming up with different variations on the same theme?

Are you beginning to see how this works? When you start to notice abundance and blessing in one area, you suddenly become aware of blessings everywhere. Focusing on blessings instead of lack immediately affects one's emotional state. As humans, and especially as humans in the western world, we are blessed beyond measure. We have so many opportunities to enjoy life and achieve anything we aspire to achieve.

I personally have always been blessed in many ways - with health, relationships, and material abundance. This rose to a new level when Ed and I were looking for a way to increase our earnings and at the same time have more time to do things we enjoy doing. That's when we discovered Liberty League International. By marrying a home based direct sales approach with personal development, this company has zeroed in on the fastest growing industries in our country. The goal of the company leaders is to help more people become millionaires than any other company in the world.

Shane Krider, one of the company co-founders, said just today, "Money is one thing in life you should not have to worry about." He made this statement on our monthly visionaries conference call. I agree, don't you? Wealth gives you so many more options in life. So if you're looking to make a change and to avail yourself and your family of the abundance in our world, contact us. Remember, it's all about the journey, and we are committed to helping you have a very abundant journey.

Feel Empowered

Is you life as abundant in all areas as you would like? If so, congratulations, because you are responsible for your achievements. By the same token, if you feel lacking in some area, you are also responsible. The good news about both of these states is the common denominator - YOU.
I hope this makes you feel empowered.

You see, if everything that happens to us is simply by luck or chance, then nothing we do or don't do can change our situation. The truth is that our decisions and the actions we take based on those decisions can cause lots of things to happen. Doesn't this feel good? It means I'm in charge of my results.

Even though the world is full of abundance and we all deserve to achieve any goal we set, we must make decisions, take action, and believe. Just deciding won't make it happen. And just believing won't make it happen. Neither will taking action without belief make it happen. All three parts must be in place for abundance to come into your life.

In my business, I talk to people everyday who would like for their lives to be more abundant. I help them explore the areas they're happy with and the areas they would like to change. We talk about the very real, very lucrative business opportunity I have and the fact that anyone with desire and a willingness to be coached can succeed with us. The people who are serious about creating and allowing abundance in their lives take advantage of it. The ones who are not serious continue to live unsatisying lives simply because they won't make a desision, take action, and have faith.

Aren't you glad you can feel empowered to make your life as abundant as you want it to be? I stand ready to help you explore your options and make an informed decision that can improve your situation in a dramatic fashion. The first decision I invite you to make is to contact me. You have the power right now, today, to start a new chapter.

The Mindset of Abundance

The more I study personal development, the more convinced I am that abundance is simply a mindset. I visited a couple of the name-brand bookstores looking for a book, The Richest Man in Babylon, by George S. Clason. It's a classic and I'm reading it as part of a class assignment for a book club I belong to. Every time I visit the self-help section of the bookstore, I am totally amazed at the numbers of books by various authors with the intent of convincing us that the secret to our success lies within us.

So what is it about abundance that makes so many people think of it as unattainable for them personally? The personal development books focus on how we think. The Law of Attraction instructs us to decide what we want and then focus on those thoughts. We are to visualize attaining those objectives and actually experiencee the feelings that are evoked as a result. The idea here is that we get what we give our focus and attention to, whether it is something we want, like abundance, or something we don't want, like poverty.

The Richest Man in Babylon offers age-old practical advice for steadily growing wealthy by working hard, paying yourself first, making wise investments, avoiding or paying off debts, and consistently living on 70% of your income. Most of us have heard this advice before but few people actually discipline themselves to live this way. This book also advises us that to become wealthy, we must decide to live as free people and not as slaves.

My premise is that we were all created with the birthright of abundance. Everyone has an opportunity to achieve far more financially and personally than they dare dream. My goal is to help as many people as possible to believe this and to make it happen. If you are looking to change your mindset and lifestyle to one of abundance, contact me today.

An Outrageous Goal

Do you have an outrageous goal in mind? What makes it outrageous? Do you believe it is possible for you to achieve?

Any goal worth having needs to be scary. I have become really intense about goal setting recently and many of my goals could be considered unreasonable. Consistently earning $28,000 per month, which equates to a tithe of $2800 per month, is one of my financial goals. On the surface, it may seem impossible. However, I have this goal broken down into some smaller, meaurable goals. I have no doubt I am in the process of achieving this goal.

Goal setting and achievement is the beginning of big stuff in your life. You are capable of so much more than you may have allowed yourself to believe. Set an outrageous goal and watch the abundance manifest in your life.

Bearing an Abundance of Fruit

Today was Laity Sunday at our church and the message we heard from one of our lay members was truly inspiring. Emily based her message on the scripture from John 15 about Jesus being the vine and our being the branches. The goal is for us to produce an abundance of fruit by remaining in right relationship with our creator and allowing Him to prune us as needed. The idea here is that we were all created with the ability to bear an abundance of fruit.

Many people live their lives cut off from God and their fellow-man, feeling that they alone are responsible for their achievements. Our creator promises to stay with us every step of the way, as long as we acknowledge our dependence on Him. So you see, the idea is not to see how many hours per day we can work. The idea is to allow our relationships to increase the fruit in our lives.

What is the fruit we are talking about here? In Galatians we read that spiritual fruits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Think how much better the world becomes when there is an abundance of these characteristics in people. Financial abundance fits nicely with this picture as well since it leads to our having peace and the ability to share so much with everyone we meet.

I am truly grateful for the abundance of fruit in my life and the lives of others. With this abundance comes the responsibility of sharing the fruit as well as my relationship with the vine. You were designed to produce an abundance of fruit in your life. If you are seeking to be more fruitful in any area, call me. I'd love to hear what you are experiencing and share my experiences as well.

Abundance - A Fresh Perspective

An awesome aspect of being alive is greeting each day from a fresh perspective. I remain grateful for my abundant past, but I can only live in and enjoy the present. With this thought in mind, I choose everyday to see fresh abundance in my life and in my world.

We returned home tonight from an almost two-week trip to Florida and Houston. We visited with friends along the way and shared in their abundant lives. We never lacked for anything - there was always plenty of food, shelter, and gasoline for our vehicle. More importantly, there was an abundance of love and laughter.

Upon returning home, we learned of the sudden death of one of our friends who was 53 years old. He loved life and was always grateful for the abundance God provided for him and all of us. His untimely death reminds us that our time on earth is limited. So it is our responsibility to be grateful for each day and the abundance it holds.

This reminder of my mortality also reminds me of the urgency of doing all I can each day to share my abundance with others. There is so much to share - knowledge, opportunity, love, time, and money. I am grateful to have an abundance of all the above. If you are looking to make some changes in your life so that you can enjoy and share more abundance, I am eager to explore with you what you are looking for. I am grateful to be learning more each day about living and sharing a life of abundance - from a fresh perspective.

A Future of Hope

One of my favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11 where God speaks through His prophet to give us hope for our future. I awoke this morning full of gratitude for all the blessings and possibilities in my life. All of creation is so miraculous and full of promise. God created each of us with minds and spirits to envision, create, and love.

Too often we allow ourselves to look only at our current situation and the past decisions we made that created this situation. To focus on the past robs us of the hope we can have for the future. Our future begins today, in this very moment. The past is over and today is a new beginning. Andy Andrews, in The Traveler's Gift, tells us there are 7 decisions we make everyday that will help determine the future God wants us to have. The important word here is decision, meaning we have the power to decide something. We are not victims when we ourselves have the power to decide how this future of hope will look.

Those 7 decisions deserve a lot of attention and I invite you to read Andy's book for yourself. In the meantime, remember everyday that you have the power to decide what today will look like for you.
Remember Jeremiah 29 :11 (Good News Version) I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.

We owe it to God to believe this promise. He created us to grow, achieve and share this hope for an abundant future. I am grateful for the abundance in my life and invite you to allow your life to become one of abundance also. It really is simpler than you may realize.

A Bigger Pie

I was fortunate to attend a conference last week in Sydney, Australia. Talk about abundance! Bob Proctor of "The Secret" fame was our featured speaker. One main point he made is that we do not need to compete for our "piece of the pie." Rather, we can always make a bigger pie! You see, we succeed by helping others to succeed - not by keeping them from doing so.

Isn't that refreshing? Our creator created us to multiply - not just in numbers but in our own personal growth. We are not designed to slow down but rather to speed up! So let us speed up as we set our sights on achieving abundance and especially in helping each other to achieve abundance.

I am so blessed to be part of a company that provides a top quality product, an awesome community, and offers continuous training and support. If you are interested in increasing your life and sharing the bigger pie, contact me.

Abundant Fishing

How does the sport of fishing relate to an abundant life? Fishing is not my favorite pasttime although my husband enjoys it a lot. Since I live on a huge lake with close to 600 miles of shoreline, I see people spending lots of time and money on the sport of fishing. They never seem to tire of this sport because they know there is an abundance of fish in the water. There may not be an abundance of fish in everyone's boat but there are always fishermen with sizable catches.

If you go to a bait shop or the fishing section of a sporting goods store, you will quickly realize that there is an abundance of tackle and ideas for catching fish. Such is the case for achieving abundance in other areas of life, particularly in the area of monetary wealth. From my own experience with achieving abundance, I first started by asking people who were already catching an abundance what kind of tackle (goods, services, advertising) they were using. Then I did what they told me and it worked! Sometimes I catch more than I do at other times but one thing is for certain: if I don't go on the water and actually fish (take action toward achieving abundance), it's a sure bet I won't bring home a catch.

As I look back on my life, I realize that some times I fished the way I was told and did not achieve abundance. Such was the case when I worked for an employer who promised me a salary and a "benefits package" that let me get by but not achieve abundance. The conventional wisdom in our society is to fish "small." We are told that we only need a few fish for us to survive. However, how about when we want to share our fish with others who may not be able to fish.

When I was considering a career change from being employed as a nurse to being an entrepreneur with my own home business, I heard a still small voice in my head. This voice was not audible, but it clearly stated, "Drop your nets on the right side of the boat." Those of you familiar with the Bible will recognize these words as Jesus' when he asked the disciples if they had caught any fish and they had not. Even though they were experienced fishermen, they benefitted from listening to a higher authority. So did I. Let's continue to fish with an expectation of abundance.

Is Abundance In Your Future?

If someone were to ask you how abundant your future looks, how would you answer? None of has a crystal ball nor or any of us guaranteed tomorrow. However, we can predict what may happen tomorrow based on the actions we take today. For instance, if a person continues to work at their current job, it's a good bet that the next paycheck will look very similar to the last one. Also, a negative cash flow leaves little hope for any nest egg, much less a large enough one to retire in abundance.

To achieve more than one is accustomed to, one has to learn to think and act like someone who achieves more. In other words, one has to think and act differently than they have been. For some reason, many people think that luck plays a part in how successful or wealthy people become. This is why average people think that their only hope of achieving financial abundance involves winning a lottery. If this were true, why would anyone aspire to entrepreneurship? Rather, entrepreneurs believe with all their hearts that they have what it takes to achieve financial abundance.

As Americans, we like to think that we live in a country that guarantees us freedom. We hear about free speech and the freedom to become anything we desire. Yet, too many of us have bought into the idea that our time is not really ours. We have traded the freedom to spend our days in pursuit of our own happiness and abundance in exchange for a wage. Most of the people I know are unhappy with their wage and the time freedom they have traded for this wage. This was certainly the case with me. I chose to be a nurse in order to help people and to achieve a middle class standard of living. However, by the end of the work day, I was so mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted, it was hard to believe I had really helped anyone. I certainly wasn't helping myself. And the idea of my taking a day off or a vacation for myself was rare indeed.

In just the past two weeks since I chose to leave my job, I have served on a 3-day mission for incarcerated juveniles, spent quality time with my husband and our friends, and consistently exercised everyday. I accomplished this in addition to working our home business 3 - 4 hours per day 4 days a week. Meanwhile, I have been shopping and preparing to take a 10-day trip to Australia beginning this Friday. Talk about feeling an abundance of freedom!

You deserve all that life has to offer, too. I am thankful to be able to share the same op!portunity for abundance that I was given. It gives me great pleasure to help people achieve an abundance of health, wealth, and freedom.

To Your Abundance.

Abundance Begins With Gratitude

We all see and experience abundance in our lives everyday. We just don't always recognize it and express gratitude for this abundance. I know this is true for me. It's so much easier to focus on what we don't have and wish we did than to be grateful for what is already ours.

The very fact that we exist is a reason to be grateful. Add to that our families, friends, homes, food, clothing, automobiles, etc. Do you feel differently about your situation now? The best way to brighten your mood every morning is to list the things your are thankful to have in your life.

Many of us are unhappy with our current employment situation. Either we are not employed and are looking for a way to generate income or we find ourselves enslaved to a job that demands more of us than we can continue to give. The latter was the situation I found myself in. It took a while for me to believe that I am capable of generating a substantial income without a boss until I began looking at other people who were already doing this. We all have the same creator and the same opportunities. It is simply up to each of us individually to recognize all that we have and all that we can become.

My challenge to you today is to identify the abundance in your life and believe that you are capable of achieving, receiving, and giving much more.

Are You Worthy of Wealth

Many people feel unworthy of wealth. Maybe it's a Judeo-Christian teaching or maybe we are afraid of what wealth might do to us. It's a fear we all need to conquer. The world and the people in it only grow by achieving and sharing. If we lack wealth, how do we prosper and share with others?

The beauty of our business is the focus on giving. The more we give to others in the form of training and encouragement, the more successful we become. Look at the people in the world who do the most good. Abundance is required for sharing. If one has nothing, whether it be faith, love, hope, or physical possessions, nothing can be shared.

As we journey forward, may we all accept the abundance creation offers so that we can make a positive difference in our world.

Creating Abundance

Do you truly believe that you can achieve abundance in any area you choose? Or do you buy into Satan's lie that if one person is wealthy, it's at the expense of others? The truth is there is more than enough of everything to go around and around. If I take a deep breath is there less oxygen for someone else? If I drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day, does that leave you with only 2?

What exactly is abundance? Money? Time? Imagination? Possessions? Relationships? Choices? The list is endless. How many of us take the time to explore the abundance of our own minds? We are such complex creations! Think about being created in God's image. And then think about everthing He brought into being - out of nothing.

Bottom line - think big. You can be, do and have anything you focus on and believe you can achieve.

The Golden Rule

If you are like me, you learned the Golden Rule, "Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You," as a small child. It's a rule I taught my children, my Sunday School classes, and my Girl Scout Troop. It's such a simple saying but so full of good advice. Imagine a world where everyone lives by this one rule. There would be no crime, no slavery, no exploitation, no fear of anything. This rule implies the ultimate integrity.

Alas, I don't live in such a world, but I do belong to such a community. Our business community has totally impressed me with its wholesome nature. We share ideas, encourage each other, and are focused on helping other people achieve the goals they deserve. We succeed by helping others succeed. It's that simple.

You Don't Have Because You Don't Ask

How did we come to think that poor is better than abundance? Greed and abundance are polar opposites. Greed implies there is not enough for everyone so I need to grab what I can and hold on to it. Abundance causes us to relax because there is plenty for all of us and none need to suffer. Look at creation for examples of this abundance - stars, galaxies, grains of sand, oxygen molecules, blades of grass, flowers, animals, plants, ova, sperm, hair, water molecules, and even people.

I am 52 years old and there are twice as many people alive today as were alive when I was 10! Amazing, isn't it? So why do we think we need to hoard things and fear that we won't have enough of something? Satan tells us this lie so we won't be effective Christian witnesses. Instead of having the peace that passes understanding and freely sharing our blessings with others, we believe the lie and spend our lives working hard and never feeling fulfilled because we don't think we deserve to be fulfilled. Think about it. Now relax, drink a glass of water, count the stars, and be thankful for the abundance in your life.

The Abundant Life

Most people lead "lives of quiet desperation." How can this be since Jesus said he came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly? The two chief gifts of the Holy Spirit are power and love. Wow, how awesome that is!

Sadly enough, much of my employment life has been one of quiet desperation. I have been a registered nurse for 31 years. Initially, I became a nurse for idealistic reasons. I wanted to help the sick and dying in our world. As time has passed, my idealism has been tainted by many factors. Hospitals have become big corporations with profit margins being the main focus. Litigation and huge lawsuit awards have caused health care providers to spend more time, money, and energy on "risk management" than on patient care.

I prayed for an alternative and we were blessed with an answer. Our new business allows us to work from home, take time off whenever we want to, and help people become healthy and whole. In fact, I feel so much better about being able to offer people a way to achieve health, wealth, and spiritual wholeness now than I did as a nurse. I have more resources to live the abundant life in work and in missions than I ever saw possible working as a nurse. And the best part is that I haven't stopped being a nurse. I can use those gifts in missions when and where the Holy Spirit leads me. God, not my boss, is in charge of my life.

If you are looking for an alternative to what you're doing, I would love to help you explore some solutions.
